Baby...Dryer...Disgust.

I could not believe my ears when my daughter Megan told me that she heard on the news that a man had put a thirteen month baby girl in a dryer for 2 minutes.....what...on earth possessed that person.....was he off his head or is he mentally ill......I can not in anyway understand the thought process that would lead to such a thing.

Opening.

Last night we went to the opening of Oliver's 365 painting exhibition at Soto's. It was great. The paintings looked fantastic all together on the walls. If I was the owner of Soto's I would'nt want them to be taken down but plenty were selling. Everyone looked wonderful and we had a fun night admiring the works while nibbling on scrummy morsels and supping wine from tassie. Fran, Karen, Mel and everyone are working hard to get the Artists in Arms exhibition up and running. When I was there the other day Robert Jenkins and Don Byrne were painting windows and such. I think most of the artists are helping out where they can....well I hope so anyway. I was talking to Judith Brooks and Annie Rawle last night and we are all excited about the opening night on June 2nd. Another opening...what to wear...what to wear ?

Bag Lady.

Its busy, busy, busy over at Artists in Arms. Cleaning and painting and organizing the opening of our inaugural exhibition on June 2nd. I dropped off my paintings yesterday and helped out for a few hours. Fran and Oliver were a little bleary eyed after staying up till 4 that morning hanging Oliver's works at Soto's...whew. I had printed 365 stickers for the carry bags for this show, so I spent the morning peeling, placing and sticking them on, with help from Conrad and Oliver, who said that was about all he could cope with at the time and I said I always new I would end up a Bag Lady!

Attack of the Purple Paw.

I was working on a painting, today, in my studio (room) and I was on the floor, because I had splashed on a lot of ink and I was waiting for it to dry. As I was waiting I was working on another area of said painting when in pops Peppi our beautiful husky. He often comes in and sleeps on the floor under my feet. He looks at me sitting in the middle of the floor then calmly proceeds to walk straight into the middle of the canvas, I scream, he pads around a bit then walks disgustedly out of the room...He seemed quite put out...how rude of me. Now he has a beautiful purple paw. Lucky...he missed most of the wet bits....whew.

Eddie Izzard's Innards.

If you want to visit a really outstanding website....and if you have a little hankering to experience some Eddie Izzard, then this is the site for you. He has a forum as well so you can blather on about anything you fancy or dont fancy for that matter. I just love the interactiveness of his site. It was made by Clock....mmmmm. Oh, the same group has made a site for The League of Gentleman as well. Also suitably cooool ...and kinda creepy....

Denton and Leunig.

I watched Andrew Denton's interview with Michael Leunig on Enough Rope the other night. Andrew is my favourite interviewer...he does'nt ask stupid questions. It was very refreshing to hear Michael Leunig talk a bit about himself. He's a gentle man..

Weekend Work.

Brian, Mick, Pete and Ken put in new verandah posts at our place yesterday and they look great. Megan, Matt and Lachie helped us do some more tidying up in the backyard...Megan and I painted some of the lattice on the gazebo...She said that the guy who invented lattice should have bad things done to him...lol...Brian and Matt installed some more garden lights and filled the back pond with bluemetal...we are going to make it into a water garden...We got quite a bit done this weekend...Bewdy!

Shoppin'.

The past two days I have been all over the place and I have inadvertantly bought a few clothes and things....as you do....Well I do. Um... I did'nt really mean to but as I passed by shopfronts I spied really cool tops and such and they cried out to me....Try me on....try me on...and once I had tried them on and they looked good well, I had to buy them did'nt I. You know you have to buy clothes when you see them because when you go looking for an outfit for a special occasion or something they are nowhere to be seen ...Well that's my story anyway...heh...heh
